Origami Frog Kyle in Las Vegas: Froggie’s Travel Series IV

After going through all kinds of grand scale nature, Kyle was ready to face some civilization, in other words, Las Vegas.

“Wish I was with someone special”

The Hotel Paris had a theme of France, where had Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe in front.  So romantic that he wished he was with a significant other.

Next morning, Kyle felt like playing some slot. And there was where he met a beautiful girl.

“A Beautiful Stranger”

After some time, Kyle got to talk to her – her name is Michaela. (Again, remember that frog in Japanese is “kaeru” and we pronounce “r” as “l”) Kyle finally got Michaela’s number and they decided to go out to walk outside, where they saw a gondola in front of The Hotel Valentia, Italian-themed hotel.

Fortunately I knew some place where they could go on a gondola ride, so off there went – The Forum Shops’ water fountain (Caesar’s Palace, a hotel with Greek-theme). I made them a little origami boat, and there they went on the water for a romantic date.

After the gondola ride, they walked sunny outside. It was almost too warm, so they came back inside and chilled at the botanic garden in Mirage, they got a lot closer…

They took a walk, and watched sunset in front of Caesars Palace…

At the end of the day, Kyle wanted to show Michalea his favorite spot of Las Vegas – the view of Eiffel Tower in front of the Hotel Paris.

Origami Frog Kyle in Grand Canyon: Froggie’s Travel Series II

Kyle is the most spoiled origami frog of the world – this time is Grand Canyon!!

Kyle has been fascinated with all kinds of statues and monuments in DC, but he felt like going a bit wilder place – Grand Canyon.

“I could jump into this canyon… not.”

Grand Canyon is so special because it’s one of the most unique canyons that uplifted straight without messing the layers of rock that exposes nearly two billion years of earth’s geological history.  Kyle was amazed he said he could have jumped into the canyon. I stopped him.

After spending some time at Grand Canyon, we went a bit further and saw Monument Valley, around the northern border of AZ with southern UT. This place is uniquely known for a cluster of vast sandstone buttes (small mountains). This area lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation (Navajo Nation – Native American jurisdiction; it has its own timezone!)

Before saying bye to Monument Valley, Kyle wanted to say the famous line from the movie Forrest Gump, where Tom Hanks as Forrest suddenly stops running after he had been running for three years, two months, fourteen days and sixteen hours, gathering a small crowd of people. And Forrest says…

“I’m pretty tired… I think I’ll go home now.”

The next destination is Zion National Park, but Kyle decided to stop by the mysterious spot, called Horse Shoe Bend. This is one of the wonderous spot of Colorado River, where it bends itself in the shape of a horse shoe.

Kyle visited Zion National Park and Antelope Canyon, but they will be on the next post!
